Baby Class at ABAA is the first step on your child's school journey. For many children, this is their first experience of structure, of being with other children, and of being gently guided by a teacher. We make this transition joyful and secure.

Our Baby Class programme uses play-based learning to develop early communication, number sense, fine motor skills, and self-help skills like dressing and packing away. Every activity is designed to feel like fun — because at this age, play IS learning.

Learning Outcomes

• ✓Builds vocabulary through songs, rhymes, conversations, and picture books
• ✓Develops number awareness — counting 1–10, colours, shapes, sizes
• ✓Fine motor skills through colouring, playdough, threading, and puzzles
• ✓Social skills: sharing, taking turns, expressing feelings, following simple rules
• ✓Self-care: hand washing, toilet training support, packing lunch boxes

Three Years of Joyful Discovery

ABAA's Nursery programme spans three exciting years — Nursery 1 (K1), Nursery 2 (K2), and Nursery 3 (K3) — each building progressively on the last. Our approach aligns with the Uganda National Curriculum Resource Centre (NURC) guidelines while incorporating globally-proven early childhood education methodologies.

By the end of K3, children are confidently reading short sentences, writing their names and simple words, handling basic addition and subtraction, and — most importantly — loving every minute of school.

Strong Foundations, Bright Futures

Primary 1 through 4 lays the academic foundation on which everything else is built. Our dedicated subject teachers deliver a full Uganda National Curriculum with added enrichment in STEM, arts, and character development.

Class sizes are kept manageable (max 30), so teachers can identify each child's learning style and pace. Weekly assessments, mid-term exams, and termly reports keep parents informed of progress at every step.

• ✓Reads fluently and writes clear, paragraphed essays in English and Luganda
• ✓Performs 4 arithmetic operations confidently including fractions and decimals
• ✓Understands basic Science concepts — plants, animals, matter, energy, health
• ✓Demonstrates digital literacy and basic computer skills
• ✓Shows strong social-emotional development: respect, responsibility, teamwork

From Good Learners to Outstanding Graduates

ABAA's Upper Primary programme is where we transform competent learners into confident, examination-ready young scholars. Dedicated, experienced subject teachers deliver the full Uganda National Curriculum with a rigorous focus on examination technique and conceptual depth.

P7 learners receive intensive preparation including weekly mock examinations, individual progress tracking, parent feedback sessions, and where needed — targeted remedial support. Our motto for P7: "No child is left behind."

The School Day Continues After 3 pm

We understand that many parents and guardians cannot always be available at 3:00 pm when school closes. Our After School Care programme bridges that gap — providing a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment until 6:00 pm every weekday.

Learners are supervised by qualified ABAA staff, not temporary helpers. The afternoon is structured in three blocks: homework time, snack and free play, and quiet reading or supervised club activities.
